93 Pts - David Lawrason
“Here’s a very elegant, refined and tightly woven chardonnay that scores on balance, complexity and length. Not overtly aromatic but the aromatics are a fine fusion of toast, nutmeg, breadcrust and vague dried apple fruit. Mid-weight, very even and lively yet showing some chardonnay richness as well. Hints of oxidation but it plays very well. The length is excellent to outstanding. This is non-obvious, beguiling, palate pleasing chardonnay.”
93 Pts - Rick VanSickle
“Such verve and intensity on the palate with rich and creamy pear, apple skin, lees, lemon, spice and driven by profound flint and salinity that all lead to a fresh and finessed finish. It’s a beautiful expression of Country fruit.”
90 Pts - John Szabo, MS
“The palate offers an engaging salty-mineral profile - with genuine depth, balance and intensity, with nicely integrated barrel influence (all old wood, mostly 500l casks). It will be a wine who’s evolution will be fascinating to track.”
Hand harvested from our estate September 19-24th, and pressed whole-cluster. Wild-fermented and put to barrel part-way through the ferment based on taste. All-French barrels were used with a final ratio of 33% 2nd-fill, 17% 3rd-fill and 50% neutral oak in both 225L and 500L sizes. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with only minimal sulphurs at bottling.
Creamy lemon aromatics with light notes of caramel this wine is more full bodied from the heat of the 2018 growing season. A classic minerality runs through the palate with medium acidity and a rich body from extended lees contact.
